Gold’s Thousand Oaks Gym is a staple in the community. Renovated in 2013, it’s the place to go if you want to focus on health and fitness. Everyone from local first responders to teachers to business owners gather there.
We talked to general manager Ashton Marshall to find out what makes this gym so special to so many people:
Thousand Oaks Gym Staples
Like any other gym, the Thousand Oaks club has workout equipment. But, this gym also features a lot more than that. Members love swimming in the stunning indoor pool and watching Oscar-winning films while they shed pounds in the cardio cinema.
Other amenities that make the Thousand Oaks gym so appealing include the:
- Functional training area
- Kid’s club
- State of the art equipment
- Jacuzzi/whirlpool
- Steam and Sauna
- Tanning center
- Supplement store
- Pro shop
- Personal training
Hitting the gym but not seeing the results you want?
All things health and fitness are accessible to members of this Gold’s community. Plus, the parking is FREE:

Member Favorites
Community is really important to the members of the Thousand Oaks club. That’s part of why group fitness classes are so popular there. The top favorite classes are:
- Zumba
- Cycle
- Silver Sneakers
- Aquafit
- BodyPUMP
Besides popular classes, members often rave about the strength training setup. Operations manager David Messing’s favorite activity is free weight training. But, he’s also frequently found at the Stairmaster training for his next Everest climb.
Member Success Stories
With over 60 staff members eager to answer questions and help you reach your goals, this club is an encouraging place. There are a ton of success stories to prove it.
Managers shared, for example, about a dad who works faithfully on cardio so he can keep up with his little girl. Another member, who had been made fun of in high school, went on to win a major California bikini competition. Tons of members come in and prove that 70 is the new 30. Many members battle or have overcome cancer.
As you can see, diversity is one of the things that makes the Thousand Oaks’ community so authentic and friendly. Anyone who comes through the doors of the club is welcome, challenged, and cheered on to their own personal victory.
Getting Started at Thousand Oaks
The best advice the staff at Gold’s Thousand Oaks offered for anyone new to the club is this: don’t be shy! Getting started at a new gym can be really intimidating. It’s even scarier if you come alone and have a goal you want to achieve.
To get connected, say hi to staff. Ask questions. Join a group class and make friends. Start with a personal trainer who can utilize their knowledge and experience to help you reach your goals. Thousand Oaks is proud to be part of the local community and to join you on your journey.
