Meet Julie Davis of Gold's Gym North Hollywood

As a child, Julie's relationship with food was one filled with happiness and comfort. As the years progressed, so did Julie's unhealthy eating habits. Determined to change her unhealthy habits, Julie decided to sign up for the 2018 Gold's Gym SoCal Challenge. Now in her 40s, Julie has transformed her body and has never looked better. Empowered, she truly is the best version of herself. Today, Julie is an inspiration to others looking to change their lives.

Q: Why did you decide to take the Challenge and make a change?

Julie: I was inspired by previous winners. I wanted to push myself to the next level in strength and fitness and get into the best shape of my life before my 50th birthday. I knew the challenge would help me reach my personal best.

Q: What was your fitness journey?

Julie: I went into this challenge for the empowerment I knew I’d feel by DSC_1770setting a goal and accomplishing it. But I also discovered that empowerment isn’t just about achieving that goal it’s about allowing others to help me in my quest. Going to Gold’s Gym, interacting with the amazing staff and working with my trainer is what true empowerment is—becoming part of a supportive community. The best part of this experience isn’t the muscular body I’ve sculpted, but the relationships I’ve made on the journey that will continue to be part of my life going forward.

Q: How was your experience with your personal trainer? How did he keep you motivated?

Julie: My personal trainer, Juan Calderon, was the secret weapon behind myjulie and pt body transformation. He pushed me to do things I never thought I could do. He did so with positive energy and consistent support. He also encouraged me to change my eating habits and adapt a healthy lifestyle. 

Q: How are you planning to maintain your results?

Julie: I will continue eating healthy and doing regular cardio and weight training. Looking at my before and after photos reminds me of my great results. 

Q: What has changed in your life since taking the Gold’s Challenge?

Julie: I have a more optimistic view of life and believe that consistent hard work yields results in all areas of life.
