Meet Shawn Collins
Shawn Collins is a powerbuilding powerhouse who has helped tons of clients reach their fitness goals. Whether that is building muscle, becoming stronger or just improving their overall general health, Shawn guides, motivates and encourages his clients through it all. Excellent personal trainer and instructor of the all new Powerbuilding for Life class at Gold's Gym Downtown Santa Barbara, we are so lucky to have him.
To help his clients achieve maximum results, his specialty is combining basic power-lifting with cardio. Shawn has the bragging rights to prove that he is an excellent addition to our team. His maxes are bench - 320, squat - 430, and deadlift - 505. We're impressed with him, and we think that you will be, too. Check out our interview with him.

I am from California.
What are your certifications?
NASM CPT and Fitness Nutrition.
How long have you been training clients?
I've been training clients for about 6 years.
What got you into personal training??
I have experienced the benefits of personal training. I took on the challenge of it and have incredible results. Because of my success, I wanted to help others experience it, too!
What is your training style?
I like to use a hybrid approach. Regardless of the goal you want to achieve, it's important to incorporate both cardio and strength training to achieve maximum results.
What is your favorite equipment to use?
I like gymnastic rings because they have numerous benefits for many types of fitness.
What is your favorite healthy/cheat meal?
My favorite healthy meal is sauteed kale and onion salad with baked chicken and some pasta. You can't go wrong with Rusty's pizza!
What advice do you want to give clients starting a training program?
You may only be with us for a few hours a week, but you can't neglect everything else when we don't see you. If you make lifestyle changes, the results will follow.
What is something no one knows about you?
When I'm alone, I'll swing something around as if it's a Lightsaber!
